rainbow birthday cake!

I made a rainbow cake for my sister's birthday. It took forever to make. Way to go ruining my saturday night, Sate.

Inspiration came from here, but was completely disgusted at the recipe so I made a white cake mix from scratch. frosting too! I couldn't bear to cover up the pretty red and orange gradient on the top of the cake, so I shaped a heart with yellow frosting, which worked out great cause I don't think I made enough of it to cover the entire top of the cake even if I wanted to.

i'm not at wubbzy anymore, I was asked to go back to animating on mr.men and since then, I've been too busy to post anything. except for this, my plans to become the greatest girls drawing girls artist ever.

I would like to share a picture from a trip Kelly and I took last year. We went up to Berkeley to visit our Pixar friends and to check out the Wondercon in San Fransisco. I hardly had any money at the time and I'm thankful to have gone, even before hearing about recent events. I hope to be able to make the journey up there this weekend and I hope to see friends that I haven't seen in a long while, it will be good to catch up with each other and share our memories of Justin.

late at night i find that my phone is ringing from an abnormally long phone number, it was my sister who is running around paris, france! "update your blog!" says she, so i set out to do just that first thing the next day.

...this conversation was about a week ago, she's in corsica now and i've finally got something i wanted to share.

this is the pre-punycorn unicorn's dearest friend. they like to salsa dance together to the unicorn's radio, and when that's out of batteries, she plays Julieta Venegas music on her accordion.

stinky pugs

pugs are cute, but they smell. the wrinkles on their face form into some sort of complex drainage system and all of the smelly eye boogers, nose snot, slobber and other general dog-grossness oozes down to be stored in an invisible pouch on their jowls. pugs will then rub their smelly faces all over your hands (if you happen to be petting them) or all over your pant legs (if you just happen to be near a pug).

feeling a little burnt out after submitting a few portfolios. so i've limited myself to just a brain with a pen. i found these two while i was winding down for the night on friday. they're going to be added to my punycorn collective.

While working at my computer I just so happened to catch a glimpse of Fergy asleep on the couch. From the angle I caught her at made her face resemble closely to a Tex Avery character suffering head trauma from a concrete block. Except, she was peacefully sleeping...

I have a rough pass of animation due Friday morning. I would've done it on Monday but I wanted to get a submission turned in for an art festival and had to write a bio and an artist statement out of the way first. I would've done it Tuesday but I have to go turn in artwork for another art show tomorrow morning and Kelly actually talked me into making completely new pieces of art for it.

this is what came out, I don't think the scanner did them any favors, I think they do better in softer lighting.

i just installed my new scanner/printer! a surprise from my mom for helping her watch the dogs while she was visiting wyoming a few weeks ago. so i had to update something.

so here is a tree, drawn from a tree at my dad's house. so i am having a plant phase, or branching out to a new heights, or whatever.

here is me and a my sister, we are for ever fighting. that is why we are frowning in the picture. she thinks she is so cool having gotten to drive earlier than me or the fact that she was born first. i find my peace of mind in the fact that i moved out the house first.

in conclusion we are sisters.
